Breast Pumps for Rent or Sale
The Lactina® Select Breastpumps
Lactina Breastpumps are Ideal for Long-Term and Frequent Pumping
Lactina Select Breastpump functions almost like your baby. Research shows prolactin and oxytocin (the two hormones necessary for milk production) elevate almost as much as when your baby suckles at the breast. This pump is also comfortable! The pressure can be regulated to be lower than a baby to either heal sore nipples or to promote comfort. Double-pumping allows your to minimize time spent pumping. Research shows the need for a minimum of 100 minutes of pumping over 24 hours to maintain your milk volume.

The Symphony® Breastpump....
Closer to Nature Than Ever is now available for rental purposes at Breast 'N Baby Lactation Services, Inc.! As the first and only breastpump to simulate a babys two-phase feeding process, Symphony provides natural, comfortable and efficient pumping. It includes a Pumping Program with options for both automatic and manual switching between pumping phases, based on moms needs. For moms convenience, one knob combines vacuum level and the number of cycles per minute in the expression phase. Moms can switch between single and double pumping simply by adding or removing the second Pump Collection Set. The specially designed membrane separates Pump Collection Set from pump mechanism, ensuring unmatched overflow protection without compromising vacuum capacity. Whisper-quiet; the worlds quietest symphony you are happy not to hear
.great for returning to work and pumping in your office setting! No more pump sounds to feel embarrassed about others in the office hearing. In fact, you'll have to put up a sign that you're indeed pumping or it could really get embarrassing when someone walks in on you pumping!
Two-Phase Feeding in Babies - Research has shown that a babys feeding is not a single continuous action, but rather a two-phase process in which the baby will initially suckle rapidly to stimulate the mothers milk ejection reflex (MER), and induce milk
let-down. This phase is referred to as stimulation. Once the breast has been sufficiently stimulated, milk begins flowing and the baby settles into a slower, more relaxed sucking speed for the actual feeding phase. This phase
is called expression.
Two-Phase Pumping Program - The Symphony Breastpump produces such fantastic results and comfort because it utilizes a program that closely simulates this natural two-phase feeding pattern. The Two-Phase Pumping Program consists of a Stimulation/Let-Down Phase and an Expression Phase just like real breastfeeding. The following list illustrates the many benefits of this new pump:
Stimulation/Let-Down Phase
Rapid milk ejection reflex
Research-proven fixed cycles per minute
Individually adjustable vacuum for comfort
Expression Phase
Comfort Flow Zone for maximum comfort and efficiencygentle to the breast tissue.
Adjustable preset combination of vacuum and cycles per minute.
Supports milk production
"The Symphony Breastpump is terrific! When my daughter was eight and half months I started experiencing a reduction in my milk supply. Up until that point, I had been using another breastpump to express milk. My lactation consultant, Carol Chamblin, had suggested trying the Symphony Breastpump. I did and within a couple of days my milk supply had been restored. At that point, I could have gone back to using my other breastpump, however I liked the Symphony so much that I stuck with it until my daughter was weaned at 14 months. If it hadn't been for the Symphony Breastpump, I may have had to prematurely wean my daughter. Words cannot express my gratitude for Carol's ecommendation to use the Symphony Breastpump. The pump design is great! It's very quiet, very light, and I hardly knew I was pumping! Thanks Medela for making a terrific product! And thanks Carol for the wonderful recommendation!" - Dina & Athena

The Double-Pumping Kit - for purchase with your rental
Double Pumping Saves Time, While Increasing Milk-Producing Hormone |
Mothers who are able to double pump will reap the benefits of time saved during pumping, as well as maintain lactation during separations from baby. Double pumping also may increase prolactin, the milk-producing hormone.
However, if baby nurses well on one breast, and mom only needs to pump the other breast, single-pumping is accomplished with a flip of a switch. This versatility is outstanding! Lactina Double Pumping Kit: $49.00

Flanges and Helpful Accessories
Flanges
Carol says: "During my consultations or pump rentals/purchases I assess women for proper flange size with the use of their breastpumps. Often times the reason for nipple tenderness is that the flange that comes in the pump kit or the purchased pump is not large enough once your milk has come in and your breasts and nipples have changed shape and size accordingly. This usually happens after you have gone home from the hospital after having your baby, but even when you start pumping, a qualified lactation consultant should observe a pumping for at least 2 minutes and then assess for proper fit of your flanges. I will assist you with properly fitting you for the right size flange so that your soreness heals and also so that you do not compromise your milk supply. If the flange is too small or tight, the areola is not stimulated and your milk supply can be lower than with the proper stimulation of either your baby or a larger flange.
If you choose to try to test yourself for whether you have the proper sized flanges with your pump, I'd recommend you use your pump on a comfortable pressure setting (rarely on maximum pressure) for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, look at your nipples within your current flanges. They should be elongating with each pump cycle and releasing without touching the sides of the flanges. If your nipples are feeling chafed or not elongating well, your flanges may be too small for optimal milk production. Call me at (630) 513-1101 to either order your proper sized flanges or to have me assist you with determining whether you have the correct fit. I provide larger flanges at consultations on an average of probably 50-75% of the time."
